Interested in collaborating with us?

We’re looking to establish long-term relationships with clinical services interested in implementing the Amputation Decision Aid, and collaborating with us to evaluate its effectiveness in the real world.

We’d welcome the opportunity to help you seamlessly integrate the Amputation Decision Aid into your existing treatment pathway, and building a research collaboration with us to undertake the next phases of research including: Beta testing, and real world effectiveness studies.

  • Implementation

There are many ways that the Amputation Decision Aid can be seamlessly integrated into your existing clinical pathway.

The Amputation Decision Aid can be used at the point of referral for a surgical consult, during discussions about amputation surgery, or taken home to share with family as a reminder of the discussion.

We’d welcome the opportunity to discuss how you might incorporate the Amputation Decision Aid into your service.

  • Beta testing

While the Amputation Decision Aid has been rigorously developed and evaluated by people living in the community with partial foot amputation, further testing is required by those facing the prospect of partial foot amputation due to peripheral arterial disease.

We are looking forward to beta testing the Amputation Decision Aid to ensure it meets the needs of people facing the prospect of partial foot amputation due to peripheral arterial disease.

  • Effectiveness

Effectiveness studies are designed to evaluate the effect of the Amputation Decision Aid used as part of a shared decision-making consult, and comparing the outcomes to a standard clinical consult.

In other areas of healthcare, such as cancer care, rigorously developed decision aids have been shown to improve peoples’ understanding of the different treatment options, accurately evaluate risks, and reduce anxiety given the improved knowledge of the path ahead, as well as regret with the decision months or years after.
